Nutrient solutions with excessively high (basic) or low (acidic) pH levels cannot be effectively absorbed by plant roots, potentially leading to stunted growth, unhealthy plants, and reduced yields. We advise using General Hydroponics® pH Up sparingly. Gradually add small amounts to your nutrient solution, then test the pH. Repeat this process until you achieve the desired pH level. The quantity needed for pH adjustment will vary depending on the potency of the nutrient and the purity of the water used for mixing. The recommended pH range for most plants falls within 5.5 to 6.5. To accurately test nutrient pH, we recommend using General Hydroponics® pH Test Indicator, which is available for purchase separately.
